As a new forum member, I'd like to know how to play EU 1 over the internet, as I'd like to try it out on human players... ...

Hopefully, I won't be TOO ignored...

thanxs in advance to anyone offering five secs of their time to e-mail me...

You decide a time with someone you wanna play with, make sure of that you have the same versions. Then you connect to the internet, run winipcfg and look what ip number u got. Start the game and host, tell your friend about your ip nr and then let him join to.

That should be it. :)

Edit:9 minuts from question to an answer isnt what I call being ignored, at least not in EU 1 forum standards :D  ;)

The ranks or degrees over the flags is something that the forum have to sort out how many posts you have. If you post a lot you get more posts and then you get a higher degree, you can also get your own costum flag and degree,I think, if you get enough posts.

Anyway, one more question...

What's this stuff with RECRUIT, 1st LIEUTENANT, etc. above the shields & flags???

Thanx

They are ranks showing what rank you have, in other words how many posts you have maded (except for posts in fun forums or the clanbase and such) If Adler comes along I bet he can give you a link to where you can read more about the ranks ;)

There are also custom ranks, ranks that doesnt follow the usual pattern. These are given as "rewards" (and sometimes as "punishment") to certain folks by our forum Gods, the moods :D  Generally a persons rank, custom or ordinary, gives you an idea on how much that person have been around these forums and what his or hers image or "special thing" is. :)

Small wonder youre called sole defender of EU1!!!

As you soon will discover 1000 posts is nothing if you want to compare posts with others. Thus my custom rank have nothing to do with me having 1000 posts. :) If you stay around for a while you will also notice that this forum is frequently visited by some joyful lads and that we often have quite fun. I also incourage you to visit the AAR section to read all our marvelous AARs and later on to write your own AAR. :)

Just curious...

AAR = After Action Report. It is a description, story or tale about a game you have played. In an AAR you tell the world about your progress and failures with your nation. Look at the top of the EU 1 Discussion forum and you see the thread for the AAR section. :)

A AAR is a After action reportthat is when you play a game of EU or HoI and the you go to the right AAr section and write a story about your games, a report after playing for others to read;)

Yoggie got his rank because of his good work to keep this place alive and it was given by our nice moderator Carolus Rex:D If you see Carolus around I think he got around 4000 posts, but the highest amount on the forum is the administrator BiB with 18000 or 19000 posts
