How do you intend to play out your first game of Victoria 2?

Firstly, it should obviously be referenced as Vicky 2. Calling it "Ticky" is akin to calling the past decade the "noughties"; every time I hear it I get the uncontrollable urge to punch people around me.

As for the country I'll play first, probably Prussia just to get the hang of the new controls. Then I'll probably move on to the weaker European countries such as Two Sicilies (which to this day is one of my favorite Ricky countries) or Belgium. After that I'll continue in my usual fashion of picking countries and abandoning by the mid-game point.

So because one (subjectively deemed as) ridiculous name caught on, all imaginable ridiculous names (of which there are infinite, mind you) are inevitably bound to catch on?

I wasn't overly fond of "Ricky" but "Ticky" brings the gayness to a whole new level.

Massive economic build-up with emphasis on military-oriented industries to sustain the late war effort.

First game will be Brazil, (to learn the game,) Then UK to test out the bigger nations, before trying the fun & challanging countries (well V1 was, hope V2 will be as well), Prussia to try and dominate Europe, Japan build there empire before WW2, USA & Ottermans (to retain and build their strength)

I'll probably start as Prussia. At least in V:R it was probably a best nation to start. UK was so powerful that playing them almost seemed like cheating. Russia was a micromanagement hell. Sweden mainly kept to itself - playing it was easy but a bit boring, as nothing ever happened in their vicinity. And France was somewhat too hard to play for a newbie player because of their constant government roulette and accompanying revolts.

Most of this issues should no longer be the case in V2, but Prussia still seems like a good way to start. Protected by the German Confederation, with decent technology level and good industry. A country with potential to achieve both great successes and terrible failures, always in the middle of the action.

Might be trickier to govern Prussia though. Considering that it's authoritarian, that you need a cooperative upper house to increase (political) reforms, that prosperity increases consciousness and that there'll be rebels with a cause, revolts might become a real issue.
