How do you intend to play out your first game of Victoria 2?

I'll play my first game in V2 as the USCA as I did with V1 (my first game where everything 'clicked' and I understood, vaguely, what to do, anyway). It's a nice small out of the way country with good potential for expansion.

First game will be Belgium, to get a hang of everything. After that, I'll play France with the goals of keeping Germany down and supplanting GB as the greatest of the great powers, possibly via conquest of India. To top it off, I'll play a US game once I got everything down to a T.

First game will being as the Brits, I guess, trying to reconcile with the Irish and trying to keep ahead of German/American industrialisation while enforcing the Pax Britannia... just generally trying to perform better than history.

That's truly a bad news... It means we won't be able to play the first world war ? nor the US/CSA war ? nor doznes of events I can think of ?

I realize this would be a lot of work to do... I just wasn't expecting the fact that there would not be different scenarii at the start...

Though there's just the 1836 scenario US still gets events leading up to the civil war, and when the war breaks up you get to choose if you want to continue as US, or switch to the CSA, so playing with them is still possible, just not in the historical civil war setup.

As for myself, I'll play with Prussia. I am to unite Germany in the historical way, and turn it into liberal constitutional monarchy with a sizeable colonial empire, as well as being the worlds economical powerhouse instead of UK or USA.
