I will start a new game as somebody like maybe Prussia, then immediately save the game, close it, and open up the save game file to see how I can parse it and make software tools for it

i'll give britain a wiz, never played it in original vicky because it was a micromanagement hell. this time though it will be much easier to rule the waves.
Even with my limited experience with V1, I sort of jump into the deep end with a Prussian unification campaign as my first game in Vicky2. I'll learn by failure if need be.
Probably Belgium. Then if we find out that German minors can unify Germany then I will try Bavaria.
As I for some reason got into the beta process, I have the luxury of already enjoying my first longer-term game as Spain. My intention is to liberalise, expand influence in North Africa, Caribbean and South America and prosper staying out of major wars. Unfortunately just before quitting last night my "ally" France decided to invade Morocco that was in my sphere of influence and also an ally. To fight or not to fight?

Probably a fairly modest sized country, likely in Europe.
I typically like to start games with smaller countries so I can experiment with all the minutiae before going for larger empires. Plus I'd rather make my own empires than just take one over. My second game will likely be a some Asian (broad category I know) nation, to try my hand out at westernization.

My first game will be played in a state of terror and awe, as it will be against Pdox and others, at the office of Pdox. As I never really got into Vicky...it will be absolute terror, and absolute awe for getting my arse kicked by Pdox.
i'll probably do a brazil game to learn how to work the new-fangled contraptions, then port my Holy Roman Constitutional Republic from EU3 and try to turn it socialist or communist before 1900. I'll probably have to mod in a new tag for it, since it's not very German and it'll probably be interpreted as Germany.

For an added bonus play "Protector of Asia". Don't let those damn Europeans take a slice of your smaller Asian siblings. (Because once you are civilized you want to have them all to yourself!)
It will be quite a task to get your massive poorly equipped armies to keep marching into the artillery (and if you leave it too long, machine guns, tanks and gas!) of the European powers. But ultimately you have the manpower to do it
I will learn the ropes by playing countries like Siam or Chile. I like the challenge of civilizing or raising up second or third rate powers.
I'd also like to start as China and release Inner and Outer Mongolia then play as Mongolia and terrorize central Asia if possible.

Well,I'll probably see how h@x Federalized Austria is in vicky 2, and then if german minors are viable as others have said long live the Wittlesbach Empire, hail Bavaria.
After reading the beta AARs, I'm going to yet again revise my Persia and Russia plans:
1) Persia: Cozy up to the Big Bear trying desperately to get them to not take any of my territory, while also trying to grab the Central Asian countries before the tsar's armies do.
2) Russia: Try to keep Persia out of the UK's sphere conquer as many large Chinese RGOs as possible, and research Freedom of Trade first in order to double their profitability and extend my borders into the heretical Western Europe.
