How do you even pronounce „HoI?“

Kind of a random bit of a trivia question: how are you supposed to pronounce „HoI?“ Do you spell it out, like „aitch-oh-eye,“ or do you say it as a word, like „hoy?“

You see, with other Paradox titles it's pretty much unambigous, EU is definitely „ee-you,“ and CK is, well, „see-kay.“ Only HoI makes me scratch my head a little bit, and I've been playing it since 2004!

I tend to pronounce it hoL. While I know it's an I at the end, whenever I see HOI my mind tend to read the I as a L in lower case. Otherwise I would call it hoy.

In Dutch "hoi" means "hi", so it's an easy decision for us

In comparisation, we call EU4 "ee uu four", so it really depends on the title.

To be honest, when I see HOI in my mind I always read Hearts of Iron. But then again, I have to agree with Snappie88 that saying hoy is the most 'normal' way you should pronounce it I guess.

I pronounce it "hoi" when I'm alone, but when discussing it with other people I use "Hugh", "Hurgh", "Huey", "Hagh" or anything else that sounds appropriately annoying for that present moment. (edit: long-term I'll just probably call it Hörö)

For me it's definitely eightch-oh-aye. And HOI4 rather than HOIIV, because the latter looks like a disease rather than a game.
