Playing vanilla SP 1.06c as Axis Turkey, I have built a moderate army, including a reasonable tank force (about 8 panzer divisions - Basic Medium 70mm. Incidentally the largest tank force in any army as the Germans have built mostly mech divisions) in early 1941. I can defeat a Russian stack, but even with blitz attack their infantry retreats back into the next province before I get there with my tanks.
What am I doing wrong? The strat guides talk about breaking through with panzers and then encircling Russians - I don't seem to be able to drive my tanks faster than they walk!

EDIT: Sorry - found an old thread discussing this (http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=193417) - apparently a known feature/bug. It seems it is better to use move order for advancing to next province.

What you want to do is attack the flanks, creating a pocket.
You can also fake a frontal attack on the units you want to surround, using
feint attacks,so the ai probably won't retreat.

I'm afraid you don't have a chance in hell of beating the Russians...unless Jerry does very well in the north in which case they'll be weakened...
