Playing as Spain to try out the the new colonial mechanics with the Conquest of Paradise Expansion Pack.
Two of my colonial subjects are neighboring french colonial subject and my subjects are constantly starting wars against the french subjects that then after a while escalate to a war between me and France without that I can decline joining the war.
Can I stop this in any way without releasing them? They don't have military leaders.

And then sometimes when my colonial subjects get attacked by other nations colonial subjects (or attack and lose) without it escalating into a war between the mother nations
and I can't intervene in that war and help them. I've lost two subjects this way.

How (or even can you) influence these situations?

It's annoying when they go at war with each other. My colonial nation keeps getting attacked by my ally's colonial nation... If I intervene, it's alliance broken and war against my only great power ally. If I don't, my colonial subject disappears...

But I guess it adds to the strategic depth of the game
