Steam doesn't (apparently) allow players to download older versions of a given mod; what you download is what you're stuck with. But if I choose a particular game version in the Steam Library, that only affects the game itself, i.e., mods just keep on getting updated.
Almost immediately, the mods become tagged as "this is for a newer game version than what you have installed" and -- the last time I got stuck this way -- mods like that get forcibly disabled. I understand why forcibly disabling "too new" mods are the safe thing to do, but I could avoid the whole situation if the mods would just stop auto-updating.
Is there a way to do this in the Steam settings? Or the Stellaris launcher? Or by just hand-editing a file somewhere in the installation tree?
