How do leaders accumulate XP ?

In the wiki page on Leaders's skill we read that by gaining XP (experience points)
leader increase their skill level . But it's not stated HOW those XPs are accumulated.
Does anybody now ? Is it a steady increase based on pass of time only or sth else?

Is it a steady increase based on pass of time only
more or less this. they'll accumulate experience while they're employed, but not if they're sitting in the pool not doing anything

Ruler and Heir Experience are given out monthly.
Admiral and General Experience are a bit arcane, but essentially, bigger battle = more experience.
Certain anomalies also grant extra Experience to Researchers.

@fusei i missed that column. I focused on the skill section.

@Ryika You table looks more analytical (would you mind tell us what file it is?) and it has some differences from the wiki table:
