I'm currently fighting against a Federation with about half the galaxy, and I'm playing tall. Despite that, I had way more fleets that anyone else, and about half the fleet power, maybe a little less, than the total coalition. However, the war of ideologies has been going on for 10 years at this point and I'm just sending status quos to stall out the war, because I says that I will lose. The main cause of my war exhaustion is fleet losses (95%). I have lost 108 ships as of the time of writing this. The enemy has only 36% war exhaustion from space battles but they have lost 854 ships. What is the math behind this form of war exhaustion? It should be known that the other 5% of my war exhaustion is caused by attrition, while theirs breaks down to 11% attrition, 4% ground battles and 24% destruction. I have 2 capitals destroyed and 1 occupied out of 6. Other than an invincible fleet bug that the AI always seems to have, I haven't lost a space battle in almost 3 years. What am i doing wrong?
Edit: The past 5 fights have resulted in no change of war exhaustion, even though I kill a few ships (mostly BCs). The main antagonist, the one who declared the war, has had all 4 of his planets occupied since the first few years of the war, but he's the smallest empire of the federation.
