How do I stop centers of reformation?Need help

Hi ,

I am France and it's 1634 , there are 2 nearby centers of reformation ( in england and netherlands) which are turning my country half protestant and reformed , and my missionary cant convert provinces back as fast as I need , so my religious unity is going down and down for the past 30 years. I haven't planned to turn protestant nor reformed .

How do I stop centers of reformation from converting my provinces? Is there anything I can do besides conquering the centers? Will it stop at some point of the gime ( 1650 maybe??

Any help apreciated!!

they stop at some point (1650 too IIRC), which means if you keep at it you can eventually convert yourself back. you can temporarily use the Edict of Nantes decision to prop up your religious unity for now.

alternatively, I was told you can get into a war with the province owners of the reformation center and use the option to convert them, which supposedly gets rid of the CoR. not sure about that.

The most direct way is to conquer them and convert them back yourself (though this is difficult due to their reduced missionary effectiveness modifier). Force-converting the owner only works if it's their capital that is the CoF and they themselves are of the religion that they're spreading.

I had the AI Ottomans join the Protestant side which was pretty awesome and surprising. I guess they wanted to weaken Catholic Austria :p
