How do I start flashpoint DLC?

Hi all,

Maybe I'm being an idiot, but I have read a ton of things and can't really find an answer.

I had beaten Battletech on Steam. Bought the Season Pass, and have it installed.

However, I'm in the top right of the star map near the edge, and don't see any flashpoint options. Do I have to navigate across the map to trigger them, and how will I know when there's a mission available? I've just completed some normal missions, so haven't accepted anything and can travel freely.

If you are loading your campaign save where you finished the game, Flashpoints should start to appear. I am not sure if you have to travel or just advance time. I would just travel to a place or mission that looks good, and I think a message about Flashpoints will pop up in transit. From there you can look at the star map and find the ones available (orange circle around the planets with Flashpoints).

If you are playing a new Career Mode playthrough, they should pop up soon after playing a few missions.

Yeah, I just started travelling across the map after finishing the area I was in, and it's given me three offers of alliance and the flashpoint popup.
