How do I remove a Claim from a Character?

Hey Guys,

Quick Question, I'm trying to remove these claims on this particular character in the screenshot below:


Any idea what file I need to focus on to find this specific character so those claims can be removed? As this character automatically has these claims if you start from the September or even December 1066 start date.

Just go:

/history/characters/

find nation file you play "german.txt"

and remove for example

1066.1.1={add_claim= d_xxxxx }

from character you want .

crap... That means there's no way it can be removed? Reason why I'm asking, is removing those claims would prevent the "90%" of the time HRE declaring War on France for those Rich provinces, and pretty much always get it because they just simply outnumber France with Troops..

Any ideas on how to work around this issue, as I really want to remove those claims if possible

Nevermind!.. found another way, (thanks Wiz!!) simply commented it out the father in the "norman".txt file, and now she won't start with those claims when you generate a new game. (which should lead to a bit more stable france).. If anyone is curious in trying this out too, than feel free to check Wiz's Mod aka CK2Plus, I included the attachment there.

Can't you just remove the claims from the character entry in the save file, even if they're automatically generated?

If I knew how I would ... But my knowledge is very limited on this (plus to constantly have to do this in every new game is rather annoying)

And yes, that is correct, but considering she is almost 50 years old, and dies usually within the few years of the game, does it really matter? I understand it's not historical, I agree, but at the same time, it prevents the issue of the HRE declaring war on France for Aquitaine 90% of the time, so it makes sense from a game-play balance perspective to get rid of those claims.

Believe me, if Paradox wants to come up with a better solution, they should, since they coded the game after all
