How do I register EUIII?

I didn't see how you register for a game in my settings or in the "how and why to" thread. Can someone please tell me? Thanks.

Where should the code be?

It's not clear to me whether you are asking where to get the codes from, or where to type them in.

You get them from the place you bought your game. If a physical copy they'd normally be on the back page of the manual. If a download copy, you get it from the place you downloaded it from - Steam, GamersGate or whatever.

To enter the code you click on the My Games tab above. There are separate places to enter EU3, EU3:Complete or EU3 Chronicles , depending on what you have bought.
