How do I redeem the coupon code inside the game?

I got my copy of the board game in the mail and it came with a coupon for 90% off CK2, and I wanted to redeem it so I could give it to a friend (I already have CK2). Unfortunately, when I entered the code into the redeem code section of my paradox plaza account, it said it was invalid. Am I doing something wrong or should I be entering the code somewhere else?

It may be invalid because you already have CK2?

Not sure, so don't necessarily try this as a first option, but maybe ask them to make a paradox plaza account and redeem it on that?

The code is a discount coupon in the Paradox store. You can only redeem it when buying CK2, there's a Coupon Code box in the purchase process.

If you are trying to use it in the Register a Game tab here, that will not work as that is for an entirely unrelated purpose.
