Have I to install 1.2 first and after this 1.3 or can I make a clean install of Hoi3 and then only install 1.3 without 1.1 and 1.2 ??

I installed RC7 just 2 days ago. Is 1.3 the same as RC7? If it is not:
1) Which are the main changes over RC7?
2) Do I need to uninstall the game, reinstall, and patch to 1.3, or can I just download the patch and apply it to RC7?

Hi in vista after installing 1.3 i get the program compatability window that the program might not have installed correctly... do i choose to reinstall or press the program installed correctly?? (i am asking because i know the game is picky in patching) also do we know the checksum for this? thanks
1.3 RC7 was a beta. You could probably update this to 1.3, but if you can't or it crashes while playing, you'll likely need to reinstall...
And if we have HOI3 installed through Steam...do we have to wait a week until Steam gets the update? When I click open the .exe of the latest patch it says I don't have HOI3 installed (no doubt its looking for the standard C/Program Files/Paradox/HOI3 or something). Is their any way I can redirect it to look in the folder where the game is in Steam?
Steam will most likely be updated today or tomorrow. You can also create Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron III folder in your Program files, start update posted here and copy files from Program Files/Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron III to your HoI3 game folder.
Johan said Steam should have it up in a few hours IIRC. You as a Steam user have to wait for them, the PI patch won't work.

Unlike 1.2, this doesn't seem to work. I receive an error from the updater saying HOI3 isn't installed. Just started researching potential update procedures for Steam installation.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
I have Win7 64bit and it worked for me - I had to first create folders C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron III and run that update "as administrator"
Other option is that you just go to Tech support subforum here and download zipped 1.3 beta RC7 which is same as final 1.3

I just put in Win 7 65 bit and HoI 3 with the 1.3 patch this morning and had to do it this way as well. It does work- though I also turned of UAC for some other games. It doesn't seem to need to run in compatibility mode so far unlike a few older games.

that is untrue, im installing on my steam version the 1.3 and it detected it. I have it on a different hard drive from hard drive and all and it worked fine.
