How do I gift my copy of Crusader Kings 2 on Steam?

I have all ready purchased CK2 and received my bonus copy of CK2 from Paradox.
When I give the code to my friend, it says I need the original product to install this on Steam.
When I go to Steam and try to install it (activate the code), Steam tries to install the game and comes back and says I all ready own it.
Huh?
Little help would be appreciated.

It will be in your steam inventory - "Your name" -> Inventory -> select the CK2 game and there it will give you options on what to do with it including gifting it.
