Hello, new player here,so i have a question about resources,so the thing that i know is that i can get resources from a trade, but as long as i invade countries like france/belgium,only a few countries that want to trade with me,so i can't fulfill my resource needs to produce weapons/tanks,is there any way to get resources apart from trading/invading a country?thx
Assuming you are playing Germany, you build lots of Civilian factories. You trade those for resources, especially within the Axis (Hungary, Romania, Vichy France, even a little from Italy). Also Yugoslavia (they join sometimes).
You can research excavation which helps some with your own resources. And max infrastructure on areas with a lot of resources
But basically as Germany you have a ton of steel. Very little Tungsten and Chromium. Very little oil.
In my last game, I kept the default trade policy (I think limited exports). The exports are good...they give you civs...which you can use to trade for what you need.
So basically you buy oil from Romania, Iraq, Iran. Rubber you will need to produce with refineries you build.
Turkey has a ton of Chromium. If you go with heavy tanks and artillery, you do pretty well. In fact so well its trivially easy kinda. I had Tiger tanks in 1939.
I always had shortages of tungsten when I was going with medium tanks and artillery. But after the fall of france it becomes easy to get stuff from Spain, Portugal, etc.
Basically, trade for everything you need. Spend 1936 building a ton of civilian factories.
You run into problems if you build a lot of artillery and a lot of medium tanks and a lot of anti tank. All that requires tungsten and that's rare.
But if you build heavy tanks, artillery, and anti-air, you have plenty of resources.
