How do I get my vassals to elect my genius BitP daughter as Basilissa?

My daughter is a genius on top of being born in the purple. I REALLY want her as my heir... but I don't think my vassals will go for it. She's only six at the moment, so there's time.

I've had no luck whatsoever getting vassals to vote for a female heir, will her being born in the purple and a genius make any difference?

Genius gives a tiny opinion boost (+5 I think) but that alone probably won't sway voters. If you educate her with a high Diplomacy score (20 and above) and she ends up with good opinion-boosting traits, she'll have a much better chance. I've also found that educating other potential heirs (family members, powerful vassals, etc) so that their Dip stats bomb helps a lot as well.

And if none of this helps, you can always fall back on bribery and revoking unruly voters' titles

If you have Conclave you might want to try increasing status of women too. The prevalence of sexism is a real hindrance to women being elected.

They will pretty much never vote for her, electors pretty much never vote for underage or female candidates.

Pretty much the only way to get such a character elected in feudal elective is by having a tiny pool of electors, for example a custom Kingdom with only 2 dejure duchies.

This will be pretty impossible in a realm as big as the Byzantine Empire. I mean, give it a try once she comes of age, but make sure you have a male backup.

I play quite frequently with elective, and i have found only 3 occasions where it "safe" to assume that a female heir gets elected:
+) you have absolute cognatic succession and full status of women (with conclave)
+) the daughter has the trait "attractive" and a majority of electors is heterosexual and male (or homosexual and female)
+) there is no other candidate available (early game when you have no feudal vassals and no sons or other eligible male dynasty members)

In all other cases, it is very unlikely that she gets elected, genius or not. In fact, with "born in the purple" and high diplomacy your daughter already has the best odds she can get, other than the 3 cases above.

Unless you have Absolute Cognatic succession with full status of women (if you have the Conclave DLC) and your daughter is an adult and is landed (preferably a duchess or even a queen), the electors won't vote for her. They would rather have Baron Joe Jabroni of Loserville be the next Emperor over a woman even if she is a 10+ martial battle hardened brilliant strategist and the second coming of Julius Caesar.
