lol so friggin what? - do you want to know how many "confirmed" CTD bugs HOI2 has in each patch? How about any other P game - like HOI1 ver 1.00

. The arguement was that HOI2 DD patch 1.1 is unplayable due to exp gain which is total bull...
That is your point of view, my standards are a bit above, but I do respect your right to be happy with the mentioned products as they are

As to EU law IIRC every client has the right for a refund within 2 weeks if the purchase was not done in person (ie. like over the internet). Otherwise there is no law that qualifies for an "unworking" DD other than what is regulated in the Paradox EULA. I suggest reading that before whining about lawyers.
By law, customers in the European Union have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days of the day after the date the item is delivered. This applies to all products except for digital items where the item has been downloaded and also the purchase of video, DVD, audio, video games and software products where the item has been unsealed.
This “withdraw” (in bold) is done without the client presenting
any reason whatsoever or i.e. something in likes: “
I don’t need it after all”…
Many people don’t know this…
So apparently you are right,
but…
No one is entitled to sell a good that
doesn’t work as intended,
don’t do it’s primary function or it was advertised in a deceivably way… following ?
The above is the law in EU in a very short resume (I think very similar in this respect to USA law or any other decent market economy), and no EULA (or any contract) anyone produces or “makes” you agree is above the law.
Just to point the above paragraph; there was a very good case not to long ago (much publicized) of a supposed “big Swedish software pirate” that comes to my mind just to point out the above paragraph… Not only the € went down the drain, but also the guy is totally free and continues to do the same.
Now, if the product complies or not… that is a matter for the arbitral courts, and yes, for lawyers… like it or not (every “red neck” dislikes lawyers… until it needs one)
…there is much more to it, and as I stated in another (rather large) topic, law and EULA aren’t for this forums.
So, in short… if Paradox wanted to lose customers and be mean, it could; if anyone here had the time and money (the 2 universal currencies

) to annoy them and went to court, I would bet on him/her to win.
Now, we have just seen the marketing section of paradox is doing good PR and minimizing the problem, and I bet Paradox knows that most people don’t go running for courts or even go to the point of returning the product… Paradox knows consumers normally “only” exercise their right to not purchase their next product
