How do I form Byzantium as Venice?

playing on ironman right now and I have byzantium as vassal and I already beat up ottos ones, now its war #2

How do I change to orthodoxy? And how do I ultimately form byznatium after I integrate byzantium?

You have to culture shift to Greek.
I think that requires moving your cap to a Greek province and >=50% of your provinces being Greek.

ok i just did that. switching capital to athens and made my main culture greek. SHould I have switching to constantinople? I can now form greece, but is this because my capital in greece? SHould I switch it to constantinople? And most importantly, how do I become orhodox?

You need orthodox to be your major religion, that means that you should have more provinces with orthodox than any other religions combined.. After that, i guess best way to do it is to move missionary conversion maintenance slider down to 0 and convert province, try to get rebels spawn.. Im not sure if you can just simply accept their demands to get converted, but if thats the case, its even easier..

If orthodox wont be your major religion, you wont be able to convert to orthodox..

You might be able to convert pretty easily if you let orthodox zealots siege your capital. I think that gets around it needing to be your major religion. It's sometimes a bit of a pain to get them to spawn though.

I had just converted. Iam not sure what exactly was needed, but I had majority ortho religion and then finally some revolt was at 0% from ortho zealots, so I just clicked accept demands. So easy...

You just needed orthodox to be major religion, thats it.

I believe you also need certain provinces.
