Is there any tool or utility that can check a savegame? Me and a friend played a multiplayer game, and the game crashed, and now it won't load again, but I can't figure out what's wrong.

Last entries in the history.txt file are:

name = "April 14, 1523 : Frederik I rose to the throne in Denmark."
name = "April 16, 1523 : Helvetia entered a Military Alliance with France, Brittany and Genoa."
name = "April 16, 1523 : Helvetia joined the war on the same side as France, Genoa and Brittany in their war against "

EDIT: Btw. we used Kasperus map modification, which I suppose is the cause for this, but why?

There was probably some province ID mixup along the way. I think Kasperus is also playing around with tags and events, so there can be various factors. You should PM him or post to his thread.

Have you opened the savefile and looked for numbers in scientific notation ? I'm not sure what it looks like, haven't had the problem for a long time, but I seem to remember they contain the symbol '#'. If you find these numbers, replace them with a meaningful value. They usually appear in a list of statistic data (like monthly income), so it won't change the game at all.
Just a guess, though...

Possibly something like -1.E01, but I really don't think so, since it was easy to do a search in the file, which wouldn't have been the case with 'E'.
