Why aren't the instructions clearer?

I've found the beta options on Steam but need a Beta code.

The code I found online 'oldstellaris' goes back to much earlier beta - I want to go the previous one?
 
You should be able to pick it in the drop down.

You only need a beta code to go back pre-2.2 (or is it pre-2.0? I never recall). The others are immediately open.
 
It has everything, I don't know what else you'd need.
