I took Rome as the duke of Tuscany (and Lombardy, and Alexandria, and Cairo, and a whole bunch of other things, but that's beside the point), and every other year it seems, somebody is declaring war on the HRE to restore the papacy (which I think is another problem, as I'm friends with the pope at 100 relations, and even gave him back the bishopric of Rome - not to mention the fact that Hungary and England, the two who have waged the wars, have nothing to gain from it but depleted levies). Due to the idiocy of the HRE AI, the war was going terribly, until I was lucky enough to capture the King of England in combat. However, instead of shooting us up to 100% warscore, it did absolutely nothing. I assume this was because the king was in my custody, not the emperor's.
Does a vassal holding the enemy ruler usually have no effect on warscore? Is just because of the specific type of war being waged? How do I end the war with the console or save-game editing (either by directly altering the war, or by transferring the King of England from my custody to the emperor's)?
This whole thing got me to thinking that it would be good to be able to transfer prisoners, at least from a vassal to their liege. Perhaps you could even get fun chains of intrigue where the liege demands a prisoner, but the vassal keeps them, with the goal of keeping a war going, saving the prisoner's life, etc.
