How do I end a Crisis war if I'm not the war leader?

The galactic community declare a punitive war against a crisis aspirant. They have no unoccupied systems and no unoccupied planets. Yet the galaxy has been at war against them for almost 50 years at this point. How do I conclude this war if I'm not the war leader?

You invade the crisis aspirant and remove him entirely from the game.

At least that's how it should work.

At least that's how it should work.
He doesn't exist, his capital is an occupied world. The system and planet are occupied by different people however, is that causing a bug? Otherwise he has no planets or systems. The Engine was destroyed 45 years ago.

BTW another 15 years have passed and the war is still going on.

I think you might be bugged out.

Please do make a bug report and post it with a save. Ghosts wars are sort of a problem at times.

One thing you can do to sort out this mess is use console comnand.
Type "debugtooltip" and check the empire ID of the crisis aspirant. Pause the game and type "play XX" xx being the empire ID. Once you have switch, type "kill_country" and then "play 0“ to switch back to your empire. This would solve your issue.

This make me think that PDX should really invest some times to overhaul the war system they broke years ago.

AFAIK crisis wars are total war, so it should be impossible for systems to be totally occupied (in this cases, they should switch owner).

Check if those occupied systems contained unoccupied planets. If its the case, go and conquer them. If not, however, you are facing a strange bug and you should, indeed, do a report.

The system is owned by nation A, but the planets are occupied by nation B, while the original owner (the crisis) is nation C.

Actually, there should be a resolution to halt the AP crisis. In the words of the wiki:

It should be noted that only upon reaching the fifth crisis level is the empire treated as any other crisis: full war with every other empire (the declare crisis resolution).
If Galactic Community or Galactic Imperium exists, a Declare Crisis resolution is instantly passed against the empire

The auto-war is no different than a war that was passed normally in the GC, so there should be an option to repeal it.
