How do I close Nethergates

What is the problem here exatly? Could you give me a bit more detailed description?

You beat the Fomorian army that is guarding the gate or do the gate closing quest and still the gate is open?
Or is it the problem, that there are neither a quest, nor a guarding Fomorian army at the gate?

Also, please let me know what version number you see in the bottom left corner of the game's main menu and where you purchased the game.

I don't even have dialog telling me to close the gate, and I'm on version 1.1.06. And yes, I have the Nethergate quest, and I beat the Foromian army guarding the gates.

So it is version 1.1.06 - could you let me know where you have purchased the game?
Is it a boxed copy or a digital copy? Does it require Steam activation or not?

We received the save. The problem is that you have not purified William's shard yet. And to close the gates you need to use the shard.

All you have to do is to complete The Grail Knight objective first and then start closing the gates.
