How do I change the language? + another minor problem

Hi, I recently bought the game from the German version of Amazon, and when I start it and try to select a new language, it doesn't work, German is the only available language.
I've heard that there's a thread here on this forum explaining how to unlock the other languages, but I can't seem to find it.
Also, whenever I try to change the options on the start screen like resolution, whether or not the intro should be played off, music on/off, etc., it says "Ein Fehler trat beim Versuch auf, die Konfigurationsdatei zu überschreiben, ihre Änderungen wurden nicht gespeichert", which, roughly translated, means "An error occurred while trying to overwrite the configuration file, your changes were not saved".
Why is this and how can I fix it?

When I use the launcher, it says it "Error was found when writing tot he configuration file and the settings could not be saved. Do you want to run the game in previous settings anyway?". What should I do?
You probably installed Darkest Hour in C:\Program Files or under another protected folder in Windows Vista/7 with UAC enabled. There are multiple solutions:
1) reinstall in another folder (default is C:\Games\Darkest Hour)
2) run the game as Administrator
3) give full/write access to Darkest Hour\settings.cfg for your user

Damn, I have to reinstall it? I will lose my save games won't I?
Ah well, it's worth it I suppose.

Oh, is it possible to simply move the entire DH folder from C:/Programs into C:/Games? Or will that somehow corrupt my files?

What the...
I pressed Run as Administrator and all my save games were gone for some reason!
Oh well, I'm reinstalling it, it would be too annoying to always press Run as Administrator all the time and I'm sure I would have problems downloading the patch with it being in C:/Programs.

when you install the game in the program folder, your save games are stored by windows somewhere in the User/ subfolders.
When you run the game as admionistrator an other user/ subfolder is used, not the one for your regular user account.
