How do I cast my vote in elective monarchy? (I am a duke voting for king)

Title asks it all. I am the Duke of Bretagne , part of France, and want to vote for the monarch in France. I don't see how in the UI to go about doing this. I know I nominate my heir when I am the monarch and that is my vote, but as a subordinate?

Bretagne isn't de jure France. You're not an Elector.

Oh... so he is still my king, but I cannot vote. So... if I had kept the Duchy of Normandie and not the Bretagne one I would be a voter?

Plus if you go independent you can make yourself king of Brittany.

If you're the duke of Normandy you'll have a vote, it's De Jure France.

You can go independent and create the Kingdom of Brittany. But of course that means that you'd lose the protection of the King of France.

So with DeJure drift... I would eventually gain the vote? Right?

Anyway, Kingdom of Aquitaine has been more powerful than France for 75 years. And I am almost on a par with France at this point; I am certainly vastly more rich. So with $ for mercs, I think I might be claiming crowns instead of putting up with the table scraps.
