Howdy. I'm building a large army, and at the top where it says "Logistics Fulfilment" I have zero trains and trucks, and I need a lot them. How do you build more? Thanks!
Yes, just built enough and wait to get them built. An exception is the case of using the trucks for extending supply somewhere far away from your capital - in this case you might also need to have enough convoys and undisturbed sea routes to get them over, but the basic principle remains: Just produce enough. Be careful with trains though - if you are at war and it seems that you constantly lack, it might be the case of enemy air attacks sniping them away via logistic strike. Armored trains with inbuilt AA help vs this (as well as having stationary AA towers in your states)So you just build them in Production and wait for them to come online?
Yes, the trucks for supply are the same equipment as those you use for certain support companies (like field hospital or motorized scouting) or motorized infantry/motorized artillery/... Because of that it is always a good idea to keep a reserve around - you sooner or later need them, as trucks are fairly fragile and for whatever you use them, attrition or enemy contact will eat them up over time and you need to replenish them. Neglect them and you will suffer silently, as you ramp up various penalties...it is a kind of grease oiling your war machinery.Do you use motorized trucks for the supply trucks? If not, where do you research them?
It's working, now, thanks. I can't believe I lost so many wars because my logistics was at zero.
Fun fact: you can trade for something to temporarily reduce your total factory count. Also, if you have few enough trains (IIRC < 50) there is a decision to "seize civilian trains" that adds trains to stockpile instantly at the cost of 5% stability. Can be useful if you're actually at war and need trains *now*.
