I like the concil and the new law system. It is fun.
I don't really like the new alliance system. Too much micro-management.

I respect what you have to say and have to agree on most points. There is one thing that frustrates me, though. The lessened ability to improve vassal reactions was not coupled with a rebalancing of their logic. Here are a few incredibly annoying examples:I thought the most recent patch sorted out the issues with the Conclave update. The new mechanics (council, laws, education) work really well.
Defensive Pacts aren't as game changing as the forum response would imply; they only become massive when both your realm and your threat are massive, and they scale according to your threat level (so while it will take a few years for your threat to drop to zero, it doesn't take very long for your threat to drop to the point that any pacts start losing members) - and if you're big enough to end up with a massive Pact against you, you're probably big enough to take it on.
Shattered Retreat works reasonably well - it means battles are less decisive in terms of casualties (but not warscore) and that ultimately you have to siege at least a few key holdings in order to win. I think a lot of people have an issue with it because they chase fleeing armies all over the map, but you don't need to do that to win a war (and you will waste a lot of time and feel frustrated if you take that approach).
Ultimately it boils down to whether you hate the idea of Defensive Pacts and/or Shattered Retreats. Some people seem to violently loathe one or both; if you're one of those, then it's patch 2.4.5 (or some mods) that you're after.
Personally, I'd recommend Conclave, with the most recent patch.
I've had a lot of fun with CK2 (1.000 hrs on it) and lately was thinking of giving it another round. I haven't bought Conclave yet.
In the end do you suggest me to:
Thanks for any advice.
- Buy Conclave and go to it as it comes
- Play without Conclave at version 2.???
- Don't play for now and wait for patches to sort things out
Personally, I think the ridiculous amount of faction weighting they gave to "increase council authority" and "install elective monarchy" is what ruins it for me. I have had 8 Council Authority Wars and 6 Install Elective wars in about 170 years. It just makes the game unfunw hen I literally cannot do anything because my vassals want to rebel ALL THE FREAKING TIME. At one point, I had 22 of 27 vassals in prison and the FIVE REMAINING ONES MADE A FACTION.

Totally agree. I went to war to claim two counties for a duke of mine. A few years later, he's in a faction trying to out me. I'd done nothing tyrannical. I was one holding over my demense limit, I only had 2 duchies. I did have some viceroyalties...AND HE WAS ONE OF THEM. There is no way I have found to get long term loyalty out of vassals. Conclave has basically cause me to spend half of every reign spying on and imprisoning my vassals.
You're telling me! I just had a vassal at 100 opinion join a faction to increase council power.Wait for new patch. The infamy tick is 0.20 each month so if you like conquer the waiting time doing nothing is way to long. Vassal revolts each year. You have to use a -5 powered vassal as your advisor and let that 20+ in diplo do nothing. Vassals are immune to infamy so they continue conquer, they win duchys and you win infamy for that conquest; diplo-vassal give you more infamy. They are more issues, better explain for other players in this forum.

I don't know about the game, as I didn't buy Conclave yet, but it certainly ruined the forum. Even more. If that's even possible.
I do enjoy, however, the arguments people make based on some vague notions of medieval history when their typical Mongols-on-PCP playstyle is ruined by some new AI mechanic.
