How come native nations can declare on your colonies and you cannot defend them?

The annoying thing is that if you just tell the ships to go from A to B, they'll take a route that destroys your army, you have to manually tell them the route to take. I hope they can fix that up in a future patch.

When sending armies overseas during a war, the route that avoids catastrophic attrition is almost always the one the player wants.

If you want to save on attrition you do the micro, same way you do micro when taking 3 land armies across mountains safely
