How come native nations can declare on your colonies and you cannot defend them?

The annoying thing is that if you just tell the ships to go from A to B, they'll take a route that destroys your army, you have to manually tell them the route to take. I hope they can fix that up in a future patch.

Oh no they go the fastest route which is normally what players want

Oh no they go the fastest route which is normally what players want
When sending armies overseas during a war, the route that avoids catastrophic attrition is almost always the one the player wants.
