Oh no, I definitely want Japan as well if China is in and play the significant Genpei War. This was merely to remind you folks why your "lol why not just do stand-alone Sengoku in China" doesn't fly--Western audience and player-base actually have strong favor and interest in Japan (this is a good thing) to warrant a stand-alone release.
Yeah, it was certainly enough for Sengoku to even get several expansions!

Oh, wait.

Western players don't really have a real interest in Japan. They just see anime, ninjas and samurai and swords. There's no real knowledge of Japanese history, which is why you get people who don't know the Sengoku Jidai was basically just one big slog with the guys with more guns winning in the end.

Yeah, it's such a shame because Sengoku was such a good game and enjoyable like CK2.

Oh, wait.

It was such a good game that modders did Sengoku Jidai conversion for CK2. I'd sooner replay S2TW (and that's saying something, considering how bare bones and shallow TW's campaign mode and non-existent character interactions are) than replay Sengoku.

I'll buy you a beer if you can explain me in which way playable Theocracies equals map expansion.

The devs promised to implement playable theocracies like they promised to add China to the game.

There is a substantial difference between the two as concerning China it was "we would maybe like to, but can't" while on theocracies it was "we don't want to and won't because it doesn't fit in". That could however change.

Oh, indeed, CK2 vanilla was still better and so much more enjoyable than Sengoku vanilla.
Get back on track: release a decent Sengoku Jidai game, and gaijins will play the shit out of it. Not familiar with the European scene, but the US players have always had strong interest in games involving Japanese samurai and ninja.

Ah yes, what is in the US is certainly the same as Europe. Yup.
In any case, it doesn't matter - you're just being unneededly salty because Japan gets attention whereas China gets left out. While it is unjust, bitching about "gaijin weebs" isn't going to help your argument at all.

I have no theoretical objection to adding parts of China to the game assuming it's not going to tank performance for everyone. I mean, if we're going to have half the Liao dynasty we may as well at least have the rest.

However, if any region seriously needs work or a map expansion at the moment it's Africa. West Africa in particular is atrociously represented right now, both geographically and historically. Furthermore, it's already in the game and has been for a long time, it just kind of sucks.

Maybe we can just have more events about China instead of just have China in game. The existence of China can be some like....err........Aztec:p
Events like:
1, Mongols get reinforcements from China...(And maybe they start to equip cannon special troops.)
2, Pope require you to support investigating China.
3, Some random guys from Rome claims they are envies sent by Pope to China requiring your gold.
4, China demands a gift from you.
5, Rulers with business focus exchange teas and chinas with China.
6, Some Chinese immigrated to your holdings.(+income, +event to provide taoism buff or something alike)
Decisions:
1, Send a raid troop to China.(And then get a vengeful doomstack sent by China in return... )
2, Send gift to China(And recieve something random in return)

Or something more fantastic:
1, Plagues happened in China -> Sick people from east appeared in your holding -> They dead -> They are undead! -> Massive Chinese zombie doomstack appeared in the east -> You need to send troops, doctors and a cat to find that bonsai tree in Japan to cure zombie virus:p

Buddhism (Mahayana) spreaded in China in Mid-Tang, bud the majority of Chinese are either Taoist, Confucianist or just Pagans (ancestor worship).

For Taoism...
Well one can relate it to Green Party, they prefer small government, less restrain and being peace with nature. On the other hand, they believe that by "mediation" and practice they can transcend into Sage or reach immortality. A rather peaceful and self-focus religion

For Confucianism..
It's not even a religion, it's almost atheism and in fact
statecraft. The core of Confucianism is about obeying the "Rule", that kings should be kind and love his realm, Vassal shall obey its liege like son obey his father. (君君臣臣父父子子) If every one does what he/she is supposed to do, society will maintain and prosper.
When things go out of order, like Kings being arbitrary, then vassal will have obligation to overthrow him. Fear not for Heaven will support such righteous revolt, that's the reason why every revolt in China in history need some "proof" like natural disasters (flood or drought) or omens like disfigured First-Born Son of Kings/Emperor. Those who wants to revolt will claim that "The emperor has lost heavenly mandate" exactly like in EU4
I think Confucianism would be best represented by a trait or something related to a government type, since there would be Muslim Confucians, Buddhist Confucians and essentially any other religion.

A better option will be including the rest of Asia, West/East Africa and the implementation of Terra Incognito (similar to EU 4)
