How can I pass new laws on my vassals??

I want to pass new laws (feudal levies, taxes, etc.) on my vassals but the only three votes I get are my own. Everyone else is opposed to any reforms. How can I get them to vote the way I want? Improve relation... like a lot?? Any suggestions?

Democracy can reslly suck cant it?

Are the proposed laws being shot down completely or are they just not being accepted? Because that does take a whiles sometimes, specially if you have alot of vassals. If theyre being shot down, do consider waiting for a new heir and have him be taught by the best chancellor avaliable. When he becomes your character he'll have high diplomacy and youll have an easier time getting your laws through the vote.

In my experience, around +40 relations are required so that the vassal would likely vote for you - eventually. They seem to ponder a lot before coming to a decision.

You can try to bribe the voters, fulfill their ambitions, give them honorary titles, etc. Usually, if your character has decent traits, your laws go through very fast.

You have to find out the reason why they don't like you. Is it because of religious differences? Or due to the fact that you are from an outside culture group? Or is it because you've taken their de jure land? Try tackle the problem with the appropriate response. Having spare money to influence their voting always helps, though.

If your rulers suck, you should always wait until they are old and have a high long reign bonus on opinions (and the "changed law" malus will die with the ruler). Then the laws should pass without problems. It also helps, to have a large demesne of course, so you have a lot of votes on your own.
