This is a problem that has stopped me in my tracks!! Clearly im a noob to this game!

I have started a campaign as Italy, In Palmero i have :
2xdivisions of INF (as a complete unit)
1xLarge fleet (as a complete unit)
1xBomber
2xBomber

all i want to do is combine the three Air units????????
I read the manual but still cannot do this.....If i run a square with the mouse over Palmero, just the infantry units show! If i click on Palmero all units are listed in the info box but i only want to see the Air units??

If i hold down the shift key and click on any of the non-air units,it just brings up the unit i've clicked on!

So please can someone tell me how i can combine the two air units.

Thanks.

If you wanna merge the air units you need to fly them to another province which has an airbase, you can't merge air in a province which has infantry in it because the game gives priority to infantry if you select those units.

Try just moving you planes to a province without any troops in it as you land forces are always given preference wen you click on a stack and will come up.

Or if all the airbases have troops n them just change your speed to slow and tell the to rebase to another airfield and when the squadrons are en route in an empty province there merge them.

There may be a better way of which I have yet to find but I hope that helps

EDIT: you mst have posted while i was still typing mine :D

Just select one air unit, hold Shift and draw the square around them. Voila. Works with ships also.

PS: *shakeshead* at noob answers :p

I think you can just click and drag a box around the airbase in the province and it will only select the air units. It doesn't really work if the infantry are standing on it though... :D

You could also move the planes individually to other provinces. After I create the air units, I generally move them to out of the way provinces first so I can organize them.

Hit anyplace on province area where your air units are then hit "soldier" icon with right clk. you will get a little list where you can choose air units.

When you get then list on left of screen shift+left clk on names of units to remove from list then you can merge left units with merge button below the list

Select one Air unit in the stack. Then hold down <shift> and draw a box around the stack. ONLY Air units will be selected. Now shift-click in the list at screen-left to un-select any units that you don't want merged.
