I was hoping it would be deeper than colonizing and waging war.
anyway, I guess i'll just buy In Nomine.
I'll hold off a little longer on this one.

thanks for the help.

I kind of find it fresh that I don't need to think deep about diplomacy and focus solely on waging war.

While that can certainly be a lot of fun (I love wargames myself); for long-term P'dox fans it's something of a let down. Most of their previous games have had tons of actual depth (*cough* Victoria), but I guess that doesn't pass the cost-benefit test anymore. :(

I can see what you are saying. But I kind of like it that it is different than EU3. I really didn't want EU3 just set in 753 AVC. It makes the game unique. Warmongering gets boring sometimes in EU3.

I think it works well as both games are different but yet similar and not just carbon copies of one another set in different time periods.

Lmao - good answer. What else would we do if not "solving flaws in the game"?
Even something as innocuous as adding "flavour" events is an attempt at solving what someone believes to be a fundamental flaw (i.e. that the game is boring in peacetime).

I've heard rome is buggy and unbalanced right now so i've been holding off on buying it. Is it as bad as they say?

I answered his question Jane, what the hell are you talking about?

"Balanced" is being used subjectively here. The game is not (or at least is not intended to be) weighted in favour of any great power, so it is quite balanced in that respect. This is appropriate for multiplayer I should think.
It is not, however, balanced towards certain powers gaining their actual historic extent, which I believe is what SonofWinter and others are referring to.
So really before you can say if the game is balanced, you need to define what you personally see as balanced.

From a modder's (or at least my own) perspective, the game is wonderful, as Paradox has provided us with a superb tabula rasa ('clean slate', sorry I couldn't resist the Latin  ) on which to build whatever mod we wish.

So overall, answers to the initial post need to be qualified as to what each person was looking for when they bought the game.

That's kinda funny, that's what I've been playing the last couple days. Although, grand strategy is usually my forte, I like action oriented RPGs. Where is Diablo III?
