I kinda hope that they let Obsidian make another game.
Fallout 4, especially with the DLC feels like the parts are all there for a good game, but...they fumbled with the story part.
Its like buying a Lego set thats worth a few hundred dollars, then giving it to a 4 year old to put together. xD Sure you will get SOMETHING, but it isn't going to live up to the potential thats there.
I hope they don't...
I honestly don't understand the praise that Obsidian gets, i agree that bethesda are mediocre at best at writing, but all Obsidian games i've played have just felt so... meh?
F:NV had a better story but the world was so dry and dull, it felt so empty, unlike Bugthesda games that are filled with little small stories everywhere (even tho the main story is terrible), the map was also super empty and devoid of content.
PoE was just... bad... the story never really caught me, the mechanics felt so unintuitive and "user unfriendly", and i absolutely hated how instead of having actual npcs around in the world 97% of them were just these "kickstarter backer" characters that had nothing to do with the actual game and novel long text.
Alpha protocol is another obsidian game that was so infamously bad that it's hard to forget...
Honestly the dream Fallout game would probably be Bethesda making the mechanics and world design, Obsidian writing the main story-line, and "Old School Bioware" (KoToR 1, Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights 1, Dragon Age 1) doing side quests and characters
(tho admittedly i am playing Neverwinter Nights 2 currently, which is a good game, even tho the fucking controls make no sense at all, what were you thinking obsidian???)
