We most certainly going to get a Southeast Asia + Oceania DLC, with free Native Council rework (and new ideas plus other balance stuffs).
Neondt said he is not doing the Southeast Asia update for free, unlike Groogy who said he did the Native Council rework during his free time, so this update is not just "passion project", although each regions (Southeast Asia, North America, and Ocenia) are clearly handled by people who are passionate about them.
He literally called it a passion project. That doesnt mean he wont get get payed for it, it is possible to be passionate about parts of your job

Which is why I said it is not just "passion project". This is how Groogy describe his work for Native Council rework:

To be clear, the north americans was a passion project I mainly worked on using my own free time.

Which is in contrast to how Neondt explained his updates. So I want to separate Neondt work, which he is passionate about, but get paid for it (and being worked in work hour), and Groogy's work which driven solely by his passion (and thus worked in his free time, instead of work hour).

Definitely, it’s the last region of Europe with barely any flavor, an immersion pack is needed. It would be interesting to work with the peasants estate
My prediction for the next mission update is it is going to be Scandinavia (Denmark=>Scandinavia, Sweden, Norway) + Black Sea (Monastic Order) missions if it is free, and more missions for Poland=>PLC, Lithuania, and Russia, if they come with DLC (maybe based on Great Northern War?).

It kinda depends too on what the dev team thinks overall about the game and what it should deliver. There has been a lot of work on it since release and a lot of DLC. Some free quality of life and flavor features should be without further price tag. Many of us have invest a lot into the game and I'd image it as a point of pride for them to simply update the game to be the best it can.

Its kind of sad how little support EU4 gets for patches these days.

I mean, look at CK3 :

-Release on 1st september

-Huge patch fixing TONS of issues was released about one month later

Meanwhile EU4's 1.30 patch/emperor DLC :

-Released in June

-Made the AI significantly worse and failed to fix many key issues that have been plauging the game, such as the AI's complete inability to play as the HRE emperor, colonial nations having broken AI, the AI spamming useless buildings, etc

-4 months later, all we have had are a few small patches and even simple fixes like Poland's elective monarchy reform have not been included yet, and it takes a modder less than 5 minutes to add the ONE line of code needed to fix it (poland keeps the reform if they get PUed, and obviously you cant be an elective monarchy as the junior partner in a union)

I get that CK3 is the new flag ship product but you would expect a major DLC to have more support than this. Its sad.

What new religion for Australia?

Aussie Ockarism

Although in all seriousness, if they are exploring the Aboriginal Dreamtime faith as an Aboriginal person myself I would in all honesty recommend that the current use of the broad animism brush is probably the best approach as it acknowledges the faith in a broad term rather then delving deep into it and getting it completely wrong and offensive.

Australia is a big place after all you have to remember it is the size of continental America or a large portion of Europe in terms of land mass and that allowed for a variety of nations and beliefs that were not consistent and varied significantly across the tribal groups. However there are significant similar animist aspects to the Dreaming such as totemistic aspects (clan totems, skin totems, family totems that are typically local fauna), creation stories that focus on animals such as the rainbow serpent or tiddalik the frog etc as well as some ancestor worship and rites of passage rituals etc. But all these stories cultural practices, stories and rituals are all very localised to the specific area and not shared consistently between the tribal groups nor could they be representative of the entire Aboriginal population as it is too fragmented, which is why a broad animism brush probably works better.
