Attrition is just too low ESPECIALLY in winter time and harsh environment like siberia, northern provinces, desert areas etc. It doesn't have enough impact to make a difference in the game, period.

This is a really big thing when playing with/against russians/scandinavians/desert nations in their lands! It should be A LOT more of an advantage to these nations.

Suggestion: Please increase attrition for provinces with desert and wintertime in provinces. This would make combating for example, the Russian Empire more of a challenge and realistic.

Thank you

I agree with your suggestion, but I believe Paradox may not add this, because it would make Russia/other northern nations more OP.

However, it would be more historically accurate as russian troops were way better prepared to fight in Siberia rather than french troops for example.

Scorched earth makes attrition in siberia to a hell. I think it's a good thing that scorched earth tactics must be used for attrition to really affect large armies marching across the steppes.

Historically the Mongols proved that walking over unburnt steppes is possible to do without massive attrition, and Sweden, France and Nazi germany proved that a scorched earth in those territory makes it attrition hell.

Actually the only reason the mongols were unaffected by the steppe was because they used smaller horses that could cover their food requirements solely from steppe grass.

If they had been using larger horses like europeans or arabs they would have had serious problem.

If your enemies can't hurt you because trying to do so destroys their army, you can't lose the game.

I hope I don't have to explain why that's bad.

...if you choose to play england, france, otto you need to achieve miracles to lose the game~

some nations are supposed to be a diehard monster ;)

and as a human you always can beat em, for the ai its rather hard to take the attrition couse they cant quite handle it but the effects of the "attrition" should definitely by higher as atm max capped by 5%

its nasty that the enemy can send hugh armies through deserts, jungle, and winter provinces with an full army // like in another thread suggested the refreshtime of the troops should be harsh limited in these areas // maybe the ai can handle this better because they wouldn't lost actually so much manpower so fast

Attrition could be made to also slow down armies and maybe sap their morale (although low attrition would not do enough morale damage to defeat recovery)

That way it would be a real pain trying to win sieges in cold and warm lands.
