I have to agree. I have seen three brothers be best friends for decades, but when their dad passed away they fought tooth and nail for the contents of his trailer. I saw two sisters spend every day with each other visiting, but when their wealthy aunt passed they started and all out family war and demanded that we all take sides. Brutal.

Indeed. Have a pretty harmonious family with just a little hassle here and there and as soon as money comes into play, boom goes the paradise.

Uh... Why? Are dragons invading from space or something?

Because at the moment there is very little reason to spread your family. Inheritance is usually limited to close relatives anyway and there is no concept of working toegether within the dynasty.

Am pretty sure Wallain asked about the following part of your post "But as thing stand right now the Republic may very well be the last DLC ever.".

I think, its both realistical to have a brother, who plot against you and to have abrother loving you. Therefore I wont increase the family ties between siblings. I'd rather like to see a few other possibilities:

+50 relationship between grandparents and their grandchildren.

+25 relationship with your daughters- and sons-in-law (which was a useful feature in CKI. because you could marry your children to vassals to keep them more loyal)
