Host has a different version of the game

er updating to 2.21 (bbf4) I cannot join any game with or without mods.

I have:
Uninstalled the game twice
Deleted all files relating to Stellaris on my computer
Verified the game twice
Disabled all of my mods
Deleted mods (this was before I deleted everything)
Reinstalled the deleted mods
Closed Steam and ran as administrator
Ran Stellaris as administrator

Nothing I have seen online has worked and I have been at this for 2 days now and I still haven't received any help

Same problem. Have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. I don’t see any servers with the same version as I have.

My first guess would be that the hosts of the servers you're attempting to connect to are running on the optional beta patch (2.2.2; 555a). In order to update to this version, you need to manually opt into the stellaris_test branch on Steam by the following method:

1. Right-Click Stellaris in your Steam library, then left-click "Properties".
2. In the window that opens up, click the "BETAS" tab.
3. There will be a drop-down list. Select "stellaris_test - testing and crossplay branch" from this list.

Your game should automatically update to the beta branch.

Please let me know if this does or does not fix your problem.
