I played the horizon signal tree and it was really interesting and creepy, any suggestions on books or short stories that have the same leve of sci-fi horror on a grand scale?

Sunless Sea is a game by the same writer. "Who Goes There?" by John Campbell is great sci-fi horror (though not really on a grand scale)

While it's not exactly sci-fi, yeah Sunless Sea is a good pick since Horizon Signal was written by the same person that worked on Sunless Sea and Sunless Sky
