Hi guys,

question - I have started 4 games with Apoc and in 3 of them I have had Horizon signal. Has the chance to get the event been significantly increased or are the Dice gods just having some fun.
Also has it been debugged in the beta?

You can trigger Horizon Signal in any of your games (unless you are playing as Hive Mind or Machine Empire). Just have a ship go in and out a system with black hole. It will trigger eventually.

Before 2.0 I build wormhole station on Black Holes, so my ships will have to travel through them, eventually triggering the event chain.

I had a different experience. In a few games I tried to force the event, like I sometimes did in the past (Because intelligent Synths are fun). It took noticeably longer than in the past. Granted, this is just my experience in a few games and I haven't looked at the numbers, but in those instances it took way longer.

Guys, I seem to remember, that Wiz wrote somewhere, that the chance roll is made only for the 1st science ship (of your empire) entering a black hole system. Precisely to remove this cheese.
Also, does AI have it, or is it a player only thing?

AI-only exactly because they want the player to have fun.

And I remember reading something about that too but it's a lie, both times I got this event were by a repeated visit to the system.

I just confirmed, in case anyone is wondering, that even in the latest 2.0.2 beta, you can still "farm" this event.
It took about 120 black hole system visits, but eventually I got it triggered with a throwaway scientist.
I hope they don't change this, because otherwise almost no-one will get to experience it.

Edit: Ouch; the second name it called for was my level 9 core sector governor. I've never had it ask for someone who wasn't a scientist before.

I even sent @Wiz a question about this, since I used to force the event each game; but in the last 2 run was unable to replicate post patch (2 prolonged attempts of 2 science ships at +100 orders jumping in and out each game). I figured he may have stealth changed the parameters of this event. Didn't get a reply on it though.

I tried to mod the chance, but it looks like I cannot understand where the roll is happening. I put some extra comments in the code, showing where the other checks to trigger this event are:
- you need a scientist
- the system should be black hole
- works on player empires only
- empire should not be machine empire or hive
But I just cannot find how the 5% chance work here. Does anybody know?

What is the major condition? System unresearched? It can be just the same, as I understand, right?

P.S. After I found that can build spiral energy hub in habitats, Horizon Signal has become pretty valuable event chain for me. Good institute, good other buildings.
