Example 1:
That's why Gaia World ascension perk is actually worth it, despite many people thinking otherwise. Because it multiplies all previous bonuses, just like pacifism/governor bonuses do.

And that's why Machine worlds perk sucks so much, because even though it gives +20%, it's a regular bonus like pop traits.
Once you hit +100% production bonus through traits, techs and civics, that +10% from gaia world allows you to produce more than +20% from machine worlds.

Simply converting machine worlds bonus from regular to special multiplier identical to gaia worlds, would be a badly needed buff for ME's and one that's completely justifiable.

PS: Pacifism tooltip is also flat out lying. It's not a 5% pop resource production bonus. It's a 5% production bonus on everything including stations.

Question, can the ROBBITS also get Gaia?

I just noticed recently that if you have Charismatic anyway, you don't get Repugnant nor lose Charismatic.

It used to be that you'd have both, but apparently there's a way to block repugnant now. Not sure it's worthwhile but still an option if you really want Charismatic.

The horizon signal is like allowed cheating in the current form (especially since I seem to get it each and every game). Species exploit is only one problem. The build both energy nexus and spiral feed hub through build queue bug is just as bad (keeps getting ignored, reported it several times). You can play with + 25% energy for free each game and the spiral hub itself gives 8 energy so it is probably closer to a 30% bonus

6 energy.

And, it's really easy to not abuse that exploit.

Like, the fact that this allows you to get intelligent "for free" (other than swapping all your pops' ethics) was almost certainly intended. The fact that it lets you be both a natural physicist and engineer, at the same time, at the cost of becoming repugnant, probably intentional too.

Letting synths be intelligent and natural physicist probably not intentional, stacking erudite and intelligent likely not intentional, and letting you build both energy nexus and spiral feed definitely not intentional. So, uh... Just don't do it then? Easy peasy.

If you're gonna take advantage of clearly unintentional bugs and exploits, why not just go all the way and start with a system of 10 size 25 Gaia planets and all the positive traits, etc.

How do you feel about mods that let you pick ruler starting traits, is that cheating as well? What about savescumming? Savegame Editing?

Just don't go through it if you feel it's against the spirit of the game.

For most empire types, the switch to Militarist involved in the "cheating" has a real impact, and requires you to deal with it in some way.
I didn't even know about the build-queue exploit for Spiral-Feed Power Hubs until just now; I have always just stuck to the Energy Nexus because of the Unity it provides.

The Synth thing is probably not intentional though. :)

Putting aside the fact that you seem to need to contradict each of my posts by adding things I did not say, your point seems to be "who cares, let's keep the bugs"?

The horizon signal simply screws too much with the balancing of the vanilla game. That's my point, nothing else. If your point is "you can change anything with mods anyway so why bother having a balanced game" well then suit yourself ;) see it's fun to read stuff into somebody's post that aren't there ...

The horizon signal is a fun event chain but as an allowed part of an ironman game it should not give so many free buffs.

Anybody can use whatever mods they like. The point is the horizon signal is a part of the game dlcs and thus ironman compatible yet it is hilariously unbalanced. I know many people do not care about ironman or achievements but many others (like myself) do. Having a gamemode with a more restrictive set of rules for achievements only makes sense it those rules are more or less comparable and not changed a lot by an rng event chain. If you don't care about that, that is fine but why mock people who want long standing bugs and oversights to be fixed?

I'm all for them getting fixed, and I support them getting fixed wholeheartedly, but there's been so many exploits since the beginning and it has always taken a significant amount of time for PDX to fix the actually gamebreaking ones, which annoys the hell out of everyone.
Compared to that, dual-building Nexus+Spiral hub will be waaaaaaaaay down on their priority list.

Will probably get fixed around the time sector AI learns how to manage planets.

I don't keep track of who I respond to. Sorry if I seem to disagree with you more than most. Were you the one irrationally saying sunk costs of gene warriors are still costs? That's not a big deal, most people (including me) make that same irrational decision most of the time.

Sorry, I am also an arrogant prick ;) :p

But my point was, "allowed cheating" is a weird way to put it. I do see now that you wrote "like allowed cheating" so you weren't quite saying that. All cheating is allowed. We're not in esports. There's nobody looking over your shoulder but you. In this game, there's at least 2 ways to cheat that don't invalidate achievements!

I agree the bugs should be fixed though. Whichever ones of them are actually bugs. And I've heard, in multiplayer, some people kick anyone who starts horizon signal, because it is unbalanced, so they've outlawed it. But then, it's actually cheating at that point :p

I really dislike how concerned folks are about my single player experience. Want achievements? Well tough cookie unless you play without mods..

As for multiplayer, I couldn't care less. Can't you simply have a rule in game on not to use the worm? Or ask the devs to disable the worm, much like they disabled end of times for multiplayer.

Horizon Signal is listed as a seperate DLC in the launcher (under "Content"). Are you not able to disable it there?

We are. I have mine disabled, but there seems to be a bug with the launcher, because the event still happened in game!
Perhaps this worm guy are involved, and has some loopy-way to sneak into the game anyway.

I only play ironman (except multiplayer). The achievements give me a goal.

But this event is much less unbalanced than the player ability to select starting galaxy and races. You can get achievements with any ironman start, no matter how easy you've made it for yourself. e.g. I'm currently doing a Fanatic Purifier game for the Suffer not the Alien achievement. I selected a small galaxy to make it easier (less tedious). AFAIK, you can get Achievements at any difficulty setting.

Single player games should let player do whatever they like to have fun.

WTF
Both Spiral Feed and Power Hubs!
I always delete the Power Hubs and replace them with Spiral Feed. (3 games) You can queue both?! That's a bug and an exploit. [But ok with me if you want to do it].

That was literally the first thing I tried to do when I got it and saw the ingame message that one prevents the construction of the other.

Well, my way of building a new colony is to directly transfer pops up to 5, upgrade the shelter and then fill the planet completely. If you do it like that, it is quite naturally the opposite. I only realized that being able to build both was unintented when I got bored and wanted to build spiral hubs on all previous colonies.
