it gives intelligent and overwrites erudite, gives tomb world hab which is ok, all planets become tomb worlds that had no districts (heard it was fixed in the beta)

its good if you want intelligent on your pops and dont have it, but if your going erudite make sure you fire the event in time

ethos switch is still there

Playing 2.2.4 right now. I've taken it a couple of times in past patches, and IIRC I got 3 sizeable tomb worlds out of it in my home system (in addition to the traits changes - it gives natural physicist, not intelligent, and also adds repugnant as before). There was no ethos change, but perhaps my empire was already the "correct" ethos. (Fanatic Pacifist/Materialist.)

But this time:
worm_system.png

I don't know if that's due to a change in the event, or because I chose a different home system. I usually just take "random", for this game I chose "random unary II". The number of possible (non-city) districts ranges from 7 to 18, with a minimum of 3 of them being food (actually only 1 of them has more than 3 food).

I got the event on the beta patch about a week ago. It turns your capital into a tomb word, along with other planets in the solar system, and imparts the natural physicist and repugnant traits on all pops in capital system.

There is an escape pod sub-event prior to then end that can result in all pops of your main species getting the intelligent trait along with a new portrait.

I do not recall any ethos change happening.

The pop ethos change and the intelligent/ resilient trait come from the messenger event part of the horizon signal which is optional. Still a good event if you go psionic imo.

The number of planets you get depends on the numbers of solid planets in the system. Some people like to move the capital to a system with a lot of them because of that.
Multiplanet systems are not as good as the used to be but they are still pretty good. You can get a lot of ecumenopolises in your capital system that way which is good for pirates free trade and the +5 stability you can get from a starbase works for all planets in a system.

I usually do not try to perfect my founding species and tend to rush the event to get a tomb world template though.
I usually move one pop of every species in my empire to my capital before doing the event unless I'm playing as a purifer to get tomb world templates for all of them. I really like using uplifted pops with tomb world habitability for colonization and tend to make them the main pops in my empires.

Edit: The waking world event chain can be nice too if you get it early. Free pops are always good. I have yet to see the bad outcome in this version.

I miss the unique buildings though.

They removed the interesting building techs, but it seemed to work fine the time I ran through it. I didn't have a chance to see any of the side events, like the duplicating colony or the primitive cult.

Not sure about 2.2.4 but I encountered the worm when I played 2.2 in December. My empire's home world was turned into an ecumenopolis before the encounter. When I hit the event that ends the chain, all planets in my home system turned into tomb worlds except my home planet. My founder species was not genetically modified to gain tomb world preference and repugnant. Needless to say it cost quite a lot of energy credit to terraform all those worlds.

I praised the worm with the Beta Patch 2.2.3. It works now, they fixed the bug with the 0 ressource districts. Its pretty good. About 10 new planets. Instead of biological path i went psionic and with psi corps, a good governor for that system, black site etc. i got pretty high stability for like at least 20 percent bonus output. My capital world had like max stability. I really like this event for a Fanatist playthrough. I was pacifist but still purged all machines and hives from the galaxy, settled the holy worlds and crushed that Fallen Empire in a Holy War too. Good times.
