I'm playing a Granatah reconquest game, 1066 bookmark. I have seen the Seljuks were really strong and seem to be in constant expansion since the start of the game, until Mongols showed up (I was playing with "random" mongol invasion, not "historical",so they spawned around 1130). Then Mongols were unstoppable until they got divided in 3 by event (golden horde, white horde and Ilkhanate I think).

Point is, are hordes too OP if you want to play near the middle east? Do they tend to disappear given time like they did in real life, or are they just as stable as a regular feudal kingdom? How does this mod improves them in terms of historical immersion? What is your opinion about them, are they well represented and a fun addition to the game or a must disable like Sunset Invasion?

From my playthroughs, they seem to vary. Sometimes I've seen Mongol hordes conquer most of the map, other times I've seen them divide into 3 and remain relatively sedentary for the rest of the game and other times I've seen them collapse almost immediately to internal revolts. If you play in the Middle East it might be a good idea to set their invasion to historical. That way, you can start on an earlier start date and hopefully build an empire powerful to beat them. Although I'd be prepare yourself to lose some territory, usually Khwarazm in my experience. If anything when they divide into 3, they are way easier to stop. The Seljuks on the other hand are pretty early on if I remember correctly, which makes it even harder in my opinion. If you can assassinate Seljuk, or whoever the Seljuk leader is, early on that would help! Otherwise the Seljuk invasion can be really difficult to deal with.

As for whether the hordes are OP, I'd say maybe a little? But that's a pretty good reflection on how devastatingly effective they really were.
