Paradox gave a bid on the Homeworld license a while back, but they didn't get it. I wonder if they had the game already in the works at the time.

release fall 2014...it's been in development for a while in other words. Makes my suspicion more likely

<Shrug> Frankly not bothered by the actors, more interested in the gameplay. Looks like it's going to require higher-powered graphics and processor than I have (rec'd 3GHz I-5 and GTX660) so it'll probably be a while before I get to play it, but I have to say I'm excited and intrigued.
That's exactly what i'd like to know, how is this game played? Will we have territorial posessions and be able to gain resources from them, in a map, or how is this supposed to work? I like the term space opera too, but I'd like it even more if it was more literal XD.
While a Homeworld comparison is very very flattering I wouldn't say we're trying to do HW3 or anything. This is just a solid RTS with lots of story in a sci fi setting. Any RTS in space will invariably get compared to HW.
We enjoyed HW and enjoy Ancient Space when we play in the office.

While a Homeworld comparison is very very flattering I wouldn't say we're trying to do HW3 or anything. This is just a solid RTS with lots of story in a sci fi setting. Any RTS in space will invariably get compared to HW.

Wow, this looks really awesome! And I seem to remember that someone dug up that you had registered a domain named ancient space back when Runemaster was announced? Really looking forward to this, I loved HW.
I still hope we'll see a PDS developed grand strategy in space as well. Does this affect the chances of that happen? Shouldn't compete too much?

How could Paradox hide this game for that long?
HoI IV will be released only in 2015, and it was anounced earlier this year.
This games is going to be released at Fall, this means 2~3 months from now? That's really cool
