Reviving a dead thread where the original participants may no longer be around to respond to the comments is kind of pointless, it is also a big job for anyone that wants to enter a thread to have to read through pages and pages of posts just to get to the current one.
If you find a discussion you feel was interesting and want to comment on, then start a new thread and in the first post, link to the old thread as a reference for what you are discussing. that way people can comment on your post with out the baggage but it is there for reference to those that want it.
