I should have put people, maybe. You just aren't getting the joke anyways by your post. It has nothing to do with him but the mention.

It has to do with the people getting all technical and huffy over the moon joke. The moon joke was clearly in response to joke/satire the guy was making. So to then be all -adjust glasses- well technically! Is hysterical. I didn't see anyone go. Well technically the US is a first world nation and post something from wikipedia.

Edit: It was meant for the other Americans and non-conformist ;) My meme.

This is the HOI4 forum. No jokes are allowed.

Trump 2016. Change is coming.

But like seriously adding measurements would be a great touch. I know it's rather easy in many games to do. I hope it can be done in HOI4 for us Americans.

Please... DON'T let us convert to Fahrenheit and miles..... I really want the US to convert to metric, and maybe HOI 4 will finally be the kick in the ass we need to go full frontal metric.

And for those of you flag wavers saying imperial is so great, every branch of the US military uses metric. And the entire aviation industry, and food labeling....etc

Feels very strange to spend money on converting some text that has no impact on gameplay just so that a few people from one country can relate to it better.
Even if you don't know SI units, effects of temperature will be in the tool tip like "Frozen" and for speeds it's safe to assume that the higher number is faster, and do you really need to know anything beyond that?

To be fair, they do convert languages, and for smaller populations than the imperial measurements lobby, but I'm not saying I think it's necessary - I'd just think of it a bit like language conversion, but for understanding numbers instead of words.

I live in the UK and we still use miles per hour primarily, so that map's not right.

I'm a big fan of the metric system though, the sooner imperial measurements die the better.

Distances (and speeds) are really the only thing we still use old imperial measurements for. I'm convinced that is mostly because the government would never want to pay to replace all the roads signs than for any proper reason.

I would be confused as hell if anyone started using fahrenheit (apart from the obvious freezing point, boiling point and book burning temperatures). Next we could have weights and volumes measured in cups, i'm sure that would be useful.

Everyone uses pints for alcohol and milk, you can buy a pound-bag of sugar, people weigh themselves in stone(!) and pounds, and speeds and distances covers quite a lot of stuff, from drinking a yard of ale to measuring the altitude of a plane.

At least the crazier measurements like hundredweight have gone out of fashion.

There was a push for the US to go metric with signage, classroom instruction, s etc. maybe 40 or so years ago or so, but it was ignored for most purposes but taught in school as part of science and technical classes soon forgotten.

Hmm, could imposing imperial measurements be part of a harsh occupation policy?

Technically nobody can sell you a pint, or a pound of something. They actually give you 568ml or 454g instead. I personally don't weigh myself in anything, don't think they make scales that can handle fat bastard in imperial or metric measurements.

Weather or not if it's the correct measurement, I quit often buy a pint of beer down at my local.

Is it worth the money to implement it for paradox though?
If you ask the largest buying base of paradox games...........................Yes. So as for money worth. Certainly. It's catering to your largest audience.

900 KPH means little to me.

600 MPH I understand. It's hard to just undo that. To be honest this has nothing to do with Europeans/Non-US. Not sure why you guys care to comment in the first place.
It's about a entire section of fans just wanting something easier to understand and read.

Edit: I'm pretty confident most Americans would love this option assuming it's a easy task to do.

I'm most games I play there is a drop down to change displays... Hell if a dumb company like wargaming can do it paradox should easily be able to do it.

Sure and while we are at it lets not make a game in other languages because only some use it. Forget about French versions or German versions ect... Make everyone learn Swedish to play paradox games /sarcasm

As was said earlier as a Brit I would only use Imperial for a few things, someone's height and weight and miles (only for long distances). Actually I do use MPG as well but I actually have no idea what a galleon is. So metric is fine by me and the only measure in the game that actually causes me a bit of trouble is KPH as I'm more used to MPH. Though I don't think that is a major problem as 200KPH is faster then 100KPH is all you really need to know and we already do that for artificial constructs like Soft Attack, etc...

It's nothing like having all the text in the game in a language I can't or can barely understand.
