HOI4 suddenly stopped working on MacOS

I've been playing HOI4 for years on my 2017 Macbook Pro without any problems.

But suddenly, it's not working anymore. Launcher opens, I click on play, then mouse appears in HOI4 style, nothing else - screen stays pitch black as long as I don't force quit the app. I tried relaunching steam, removing mods, restarting the computer, nothing worked - nada.

Any help is appreciated.

PS: It's Mac OS Mojave, didn't update to Big Sur or anything.

There was a 1.10.3 patch released yesterday to fix it for Big Sur. Maybe it broke it for older versions of Mac OS?.

Try posting in the tech support forum. (you may need to link HOI4 to your Paradox account if you haven't already done so)
